Applicants for master’s programs typically have completed a three-year undergraduate or bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. The degree must comprise courses equivalent to at least one and a half years of full-time study in a subject related to the program being applied for.
Please note that the first (and possibly second) year of study at a foreign higher education institution will not be recognized as higher education in Norway in some countries (see above).
All applicants should anticipate documenting their language skills according to the institution’s standards for courses where the language of teaching is English. Be aware that prerequisites can fluctuate from one university to the next, and even from one study program to the next, and that different universities may require different English tests and scores.
Proficiency in the Norwegian language is necessary and should be documented for courses where the language of instruction is Norwegian.
